Swap Soap

I'm really excited about this soap! I'm doing another swap with some online soaper friends and this time it was a "something different" theme. So we all had to do new recipes..and I did some new packaging as well..I LOVE it! The soap is kind of ugly but it is so nice. I've been using it on my face and it is really good. This was an all veggie oil recipe I designed with organic additives like yucca, peppermint, and anise.. and activated charcoal. It has a really nice quality and leaves your skin feeling refreshed. I hope to have this available on the website soon..I'll probably try to do a swirled look instead of the layer. These will be a little more spendy and I want to push it as a complexion soap.
Here they are ready to mail off to the swap host. They are wrapped in white paper, tied with black embroidery floss, then the label is a glossy photo with ingredients listed..then I wrapped it in cellophane. Pretty classy if I do say so myself!

August

I can't believe August is over! I'm in denial..I want summer to say FOREVER! The weather has really gotten chilly at night. I've even been running my heater in the milk house in the mornings. I just love this picture of Zack and Morgyn washing the car..with all my pretty flowers in view. They looked pretty great this year and I only weeded and fertilized once..thats what goat poop does for ya!

Chris Shaver and I shared a booth at "blanchard Daze" on the 23rd. It was a lot of fun and we had a great turn out. I didn't sell a single one of my painted signs..see below..but about $150 worth of soap! Not bad for only 6 hours of set-up time. I really do enjoy going to little festivals like this. Its fun talking to people and having my soap oohed and ahhed over (it IS really great stuff). And best of all is having Chris to chat with..and Lee was with us this time also. If I can just get the word out I'm sure my website (http://www.halogoatsoap.com) will take off. I've been working on some "new" soaps and building an inventory for Christmas.

Ocean Vacation

Once again I'm very late posting pictures of our vacation. We enjoyed ourselves so much! Lenore spearheaded and planned it all. We were in a beautiful house in Seabrook (pacific Beach) and Daniel and Nathan were there as well. We had decent weather and I was SO thrilled to see and smell the ocean after so long!
