I started out the day by using my first batch of homemade goat cheese to make delicious stuffed mushrooms wrapped with bacon. The cheese was a yummy fromage, my best so far if I don't say so myself! I have a new culture to thank for that.
Then Morgyn's little goat Honey went into labor and produced a pretty little chestnut doeling.
She is such a cute little thing, and Morgyn got to watch the birth, her first. She did a great job taking photos while I helped pull that big ol' kid out of her mama. Now that she is dry she is lighter in color and looks like she may have some frosted spots. I'll have to post new pictures when she is a little bigger. She is the only "Mutt" on the farm. Half purbred nubian, but Honey's ancestry is a little more obscure. We know she is half pygmy but her mom was a mixed breed, Toggenburg we think.
